Lil Wayne Jeopardy! clue stumps all three contestants

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A clue on an episode of “Jeopardy!” referencing New Orleans rapper Lil Wayne’s lyrics stumped all three contestants on the show.

Episode 89 of season 40, which originally aired on Jan. 11, 2024, featured contestants Long Nguyen, Allison Strekal, and John Guszkowski. The episode re-aired in New Orleans on Feb. 29.

In the category “7-Letter Words,” the $1,600 clue was: A Lil Wayne line that caused some linguistic controversy said, “Real Gs move in silence like” this pasta dish.

A quiet ten seconds passed before the buzzer sounded.

“What is lasagna,” host Ken Jennings informed the contestants.

The lyric is from Wayne’s song “6 Foot 7 Foot,” the first single released off Tha Carter IV: Paper chasin’, tell that paper, ‘Look, I’m right behind ya’ / B****, real Gs move in silence like lasagna.

The song debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the week of Jan. 1, 2011.

Nguyen ended up besting his competitors on the day.
