Ben Affleck is an American actor, screenwriter, director, and producer. He’s best known for films like Good Will Hunting, Armageddon, and Argo. He was born Benjamin Geza Affleck-Boldt on August 15, 1972, in Berkeley, California. His parents Chris Anne and Tim Affleck divorced when he was 11 years old. He has a younger brother named Casey. Affleck grew up in Cambridge, Massachusetts where he attended the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School. He studied at the University of Vermont followed by Occidental College but dropped out before completing a degree.

CAREER
Affleck made his acting debut in the 1981 film, The Dark End of the Street. He later appeared in Dazed and Confused (1993), Chasing Amy (1997), and 13 episodes of The Voyage of the Mimi (1984). Affleck got his big break with the role of “Chuckie” in the 1997 drama film, Good Will Hunting. He starred alongside his good friend Matt Damon. They won the Golden Globe Award and Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. Affleck starred opposite Bruce Willis a year later in Armageddon (1998). Other notable films include Shakespeare in Love, Pearl Harbor, Changing Lanes, and The Sum of All Fears. Affleck stars as “Batman” in the 2016 films Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Suicide Squad.

As a director, Affleck is best known for the 2012 political thriller, Argo. He directed and starred as the character “Tony Mendez”. He picked two Golden Globes, two BAFTAs, and an Academy Award. Other directorial projects include Gone Baby Gone (2007), The Town (2010), and Live by Night (2017).
